In Development
"Arts and Minds" tells the story of Nancy Dupree, who has lived in the Northwest Frontier between Pakistan and Afghanistan since the 1960s. Arriving with an interest in the area's art and culture, the young anthropologist fell in love with the people as a whole.
Forty years later, Nancy works to promote education and other basic rights for women and refugees in the area, while still fighting to protect sites of international historical importance. Nancy's work was regarded so highly, that even members of the Taliban sought her advice regarding the treasures of Afghanistan.
"Broadway to Burma" is Joan Eubank's story, which took her from a career as a singer and dancer, in London and the US, to forty plus years along the jungle border between Thailand and Burma.
Apart from providing basic education and healthcare to both Thais and those who have fled to Burma, Joan raised her own family here. One of her children continues to live and work in the area as a missionary, with his American born wife, perhaps the start of the next generation of women in voluntary exile.
An additional three life stories are in Development, with stories set in Iraq, Syria and the Sudan, and for which unique access is also offered.
